What is Rolfing?

Rolfing® is a hands on approach where pressure is applied to the tissue in order to shear, stretch and release fascial adhesions. Fascia is like a spider web or net that is woven through and around every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, as well as, all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. As you can see, fascia is pretty important stuff! Over time due to age, daily stress and trauma, fascia can become dehydrated and stuck to itself. When this happens the body shifts out of it's most optimal and comfortable alignment within gravity.  Rolfing® is a effective way of unwinding and releasing these adhesions which in turn brings more ease and balance to the body.
